DAY 1 Wednesday depart USA
Depart across the Pacific and International Dateline to Asia.
DAY 2 Thursday arrive BANGKOK
Transit Tokyo or Hong Kong and on arrival stay at the deluxe Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel.
DAY 3 Friday BANGKOK/YANGON (B)
Arrive and transfer to the Sofitel Hotel or similar. Visit the
dominant feature of the city, the Shewdagon Pagoda, and explore it until
sunset.
DAY 4 Saturday YANGON (B)
A city tour of old Rangoon includes the Sule Pagoda, Botataung
Pagoda, Kyuak Htat Gyi Pagoda, the National Museum and the Bogyoke Aung San
Market.
DAY 5 Sunday YANGON/BAGAN (B, D)
This morning you will fly to Bagan (Pagan) the ancient capital on
the banks of the Ayeyarwady ( Irrawaddy) River known for its magnificent
archeological findings. The full day will be spent viewing temples in the
archeological zone. Overnight at the Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel.
DAY 6 Monday BAGAN/MANDALAY (B, D)
The morning is spent exploring more of the Bagan area. Then drive
through the countryside to Mandalay. Enroute visit Mount Popa. In Mandalay
stay at the Novotel Hotel or similar.
DAY 7 Tuesday MANDALAY (B)
A full day sightseeing around Mandalay includes the Kuthodaw Pagoda,
Arakan Pagoda, and the Mandalay Palace. In the afternoon climb Mandalay Hill
for a view of the city and the Ayeyarwady River.
DAY 8 Wednesday MANDALAY (B)
Today is spent outside the Mandalay city exploring ancient capitals
at Amarapura and Ava. Also visit Sagaing, an area with over 600 monasteries,
stupas, pagodas and temple caves nested in the nearby hills.
DAY 9 Thursday MANDALAY/KALAW (B, D)
Drive through rural Myanmar to Kalaw. Overnight at the Pine Hill
Resort.
DAY 10 Friday KALAW/INLE LAKE (B, D)
Continue driving via Pindaya, viewing the nearly 6000 Statues of
Buddha to the Shan State and its central city, Taunggyi. Visit the market and
the Shan Museum before driving on to Inle Lake to stay at the Lakeview
Resort.
DAY 11 Saturday INLE LAKE/YANGON (B)
Take a morning boat trip on Inle Lake passing floating flower
gardens, and movable villages. Photographic highlights are native boats with
their traditional “legrowers”. Drive to Heho and fly back to
Yangon to overnight.
DAY 12 Sunday YANGON/BANGKOK (B)
Depart on Thai Airways this morning and return to the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel.
DAY 13 Monday BANGKOK/USA (B)
Depart this morning arriving back the same day.
Guaranteed departures for a minimum of 2 people
traveling together.
Be advised that to obtain a visa for Myanmar may require an interview.
